Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) in Houston, TX

This contract position involves providing speech and language support at two school campuses—Furr High School and Edison Middle School—both located on the east side of Houston. Key Qualifications:
- Active Texas SLPA license required (must be in hand at time of application)
- Prior experience delivering school-based speech-language services
- Demonstrated ability to provide support independently; client does not offer supervision hours for licensure
- Reliable transportation with commitment and comfort to commute between both campus locations
- Availability for on-site services throughout the assignment period
- Capacity and willingness to complete/pay for required HISD fingerprinting within three days of contract signing
Primary Responsibilities:
- Implement speech-language therapy plans developed by supervising SLPs for assigned students
- Deliver direct intervention and maintain detailed documentation of progress
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to support each student’s goals
- Manage a flexible caseload, travelling as necessary to meet scheduling needs at both campuses
- Adhere to all district policies, confidentiality standards, and reporting requirements
Additional Details:
- Contract runs from immediate start through late May 2027
- Initial out-of-pocket purchase of a laptop is required; reimbursement will be provided after procurement
