A professional opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support K-12 students within a school setting. This contract position offers approximately 20 hours per week, primarily scheduled on Mondays and Tuesdays, with some additional time for collaboration with the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the SLP in delivering speech and language therapy services to students across grades K-12.
- Implement treatment plans under the guidance of the SLP.
- Monitor and document student progress.
- Participate in consultative sessions and collaborate with the therapy team and educators.
- Support students during individual and group therapy sessions.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification or licensure as an SLPA as required by the state.
- Experience working in school-based speech and language therapy services preferred.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with speech-language pathologists, teachers, and families.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with documentation and progress reporting in educational settings.
Location: Escondido, CA
Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week on Monday and Tuesday, plus additional consultation hours with the SLP
Duration: Contract position for the current school year
