School-Based Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
Job Description
Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a motivated Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a full-time school-based position in the Castle Rock, Colorado area. This opportunity is ideal for professionals who enjoy working directly with students and collaborating with licensed Speech Language Pathologists to support communication development. The selected candidate will play an important role in helping students strengthen speech and language skills that contribute to both academic and social success.
Responsibilities
- Deliver speech and language therapy services under the direction of a supervising Speech Language Pathologist
- Implement treatment plans designed to address articulation, language, fluency, and social communication goals
- Assist with therapy preparation, scheduling, and classroom support activities
- Collect and document data on student performance and progress
- Maintain therapy materials and organize treatment resources
- Collaborate with educational staff to reinforce communication strategies across settings
- Follow all district, state, and federal guidelines regarding service delivery and documentation
Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to establish positive relationships with students, families, and staff
- Effective organizational and record-keeping abilities
- Flexibility in working with students across various grade levels
- Ability to follow treatment plans and clinical guidance accurately
Qualifications
- Active Colorado Speech-Language Pathology Assistant authorization or eligibility
- Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist
- Familiarity with school-based therapy services preferred
- Knowledge of speech and language development in children and adolescents
Education
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant studies, Communication Disorders, or a related field
- Completion of required SLPA clinical training and state requirements
Experience
- Previous experience working with children in educational, clinical, or therapeutic settings preferred
- School-based experience is a plus but not required
- Recent graduates meeting licensure requirements are encouraged to apply
