Qualifications and skills:

  • Active state licensure or registration as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
  • Previous experience working with children or adolescents in either educational or healthcare settings
  • Solid understanding of speech, language, and communication disorders
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work collaboratively with supervising SLPs, teachers, and other school staff
  • Organizational skills to manage documentation and caseload requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and indirect speech-language therapy services as directed by a supervising SLP
  • Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Collect data on student progress and maintain accurate records
  • Prepare therapy materials and support classroom activities related to communication needs
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to a collaborative school culture
  • Engage with families and educators to promote carryover of skills
