Speech-Language Pathologist in Bear, DE
A contract position is available for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to provide summer services supporting students in a dynamic school environment in Wilmington, DE (Bear area). This opportunity spans from June 22, 2026, through August 7, 2026, offering a valuable experience working with diverse student populations across various educational settings.
Key responsibilities include delivering speech-language therapy to elementary, secondary, and early childhood students during the summer extended school year (ESY) program. You'll serve multiple sites with varying schedules:
- PS DuPont: Entitlement Elementary & Secondary students (8:00 AM–2:30 PM students / 7:30 AM–3:00 PM staff)
- ESY Secondary (8:00 AM–12:00 PM students / 7:30 AM–12:30 PM staff)
- SITE program (ages 18-22): 7:45 AM–2:15 PM students / 7:15 AM–2:45 PM staff
- Early Childhood Education (Bush location): 8:30 AM–11:00 AM students / 8:00 AM–11:30 AM staff
Work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7:05 AM to 2:35 PM, with a 30-minute paid lunch each day.
Qualifications and experience sought:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) or equivalent certification
- Delaware SLP license (must be presented with application)
- Eligibility to provide services independently (Certified Fluency [CF] candidates are welcomed; SLPA candidates are not considered)
- Prior experience working in school settings preferred, including with diverse student populations and ages
Additional Requirements:
- Candidates must agree to pay an $85 criminal background check fingerprinting fee
- Submission of a current resume and Delaware SLP license is mandatory for application consideration
- Candidates may combine this summer contract with potential openings for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year if interested
