Pediatric School Speech Pathology | Waukegan, Illinois
An opportunity is available for a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to serve a caseload of 45-50 students across two schools in Waukegan, IL. This contract position offers the option for two professionals to split the workload if preferred, providing flexibility to accommodate different arrangements. The role involves delivering speech and language therapy services in educational settings, supporting students’ communication needs effectively.
Key qualifications and experience desired:
- Certification as an SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence - CCC)
- Experience working with pediatric populations in schools and healthcare settings
- Familiarity with teletherapy service delivery
- Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is preferred
- Strong knowledge of school-based therapy procedures and documentation requirements
Primary responsibilities include:
- Providing individualized speech-language assessment and therapy to students on the caseload
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress
- Maintaining accurate records and complying with school district policies and state regulations
- Utilizing teletherapy methods when appropriate to supplement in-person sessions
- Adapting therapy plans according to each student’s evolving needs
Typical working hours are 8:42 AM to 3:45 PM Monday through Friday, with early start on Wednesdays from 7:42 AM to 3:15 PM. There is some flexibility available for Wednesday schedules to accommodate personal needs or caseload requirements.
