A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with ASL fluency is needed for the 2026/27 school year in Waterford, MI. This contract position is based in a school setting and focuses on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) services for students.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive speech-language therapy to students, emphasizing AAC strategies and tools
- Deliver therapy services utilizing a variety of methodologies including in-person and teletherapy when appropriate
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and healthcare providers to create individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
- Apply expertise in pediatrics and school-based therapy to support communication development and success
- Maintain compliance with school policies, state regulations, and professional standards, including documentation and progress reporting
Qualifications and Experience:
- ASL fluency required to effectively communicate with diverse student populations
- Certified SLP with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or eligibility, including completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
- Experience in pediatric speech therapy within school or healthcare settings
- Proficiency in AAC methods and technologies
- Ability to deliver teletherapy services as needed
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to student-centered care
