Remote Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher
We’re seeking licensed Deaf and hard of Hearing Teacher to provide telehealth services in a school setting. We offer a flexible, independent contractor position for a licensed DHHT looking for a change of pace to support students virtually.
Responsibilities
• Provide services via our secure, industry leading, teletherapy platform
• Conduct evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Provide adapting teaching methods to meet students' diverse needs and foster an inclusive classroom atmosphere
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school teams
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
Requirements
- Current DHHT (Deaf/Hard of Hearing Teacher) Certification required
- Demonstrated experience teaching high school students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- In-depth knowledge of effective instructional strategies and accommodations for students with hearing loss
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that meet diverse learning needs
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with special education law and compliance
• At least 2 years’ experience in a school setting within the past 5 years – all applicants are still welcome!
• Previous Teletherapy experience – those with no previous teletherapy experience are still welcome!
