Remote School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist - Alabama
Qualifications • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program • Active Alabama SLP license issued by the Alabama Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (ABESPA) • Active Alabama Class A Professional Educator Certificate with a Speech-Language Pathology endorsement issued by the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) (or eligibility) • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred • Minimum of 2+ years of experience (school-based and/or teletherapy preferred) • Experience with Alabama IEP processes, evaluations, and virtual service delivery is a plus • Strong communication, clinical, and organizational skills • Comfortable using teletherapy platforms, digital assessments, and therapy tools
Key Responsibilities Assessment & Intervention • Conduct comprehensive virtual speech and language evaluations to assess articulation, language, fluency, voice, and pragmatic disorders • Design and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) • Deliver direct telepractice services focused on educational, functional communication goals and monitor student progress • Use objective clinical data to adjust intervention strategies and optimize therapy outcomes
Collaboration & Support • Collaborate closely with general and special education teachers, related service providers, parents, and administrators • Provide classroom accommodation strategies, carryover activities, and consultation to support communication across academic settings • Participate actively in virtual IEP team meetings, eligibility determinations, and 504 plan reviews
Documentation & Compliance • Maintain thorough, compliant, and timely documentation of direct service logs, progress notes, and IEP goal updates • Ensure all evaluations and therapeutic services strictly comply with ALSDE standards, district policies, and IDEA guidelines • Prepare comprehensive evaluation reports, eligibility forms, and state-mandated compliance documentation
Technology & Teletherapy Tools • Utilize interactive digital platforms, virtual assessment tools, and engaging online stimuli to deliver dynamic sessions • Adapt speech materials and visual resources for an effective remote learning environment • Guide onsite facilitators and families with platform setup and basic tech troubleshooting
Advocacy & Education • Guide students in developing self-advocacy skills, functional communication, and AAC device integration where applicable • Provide educational resources and consultation to school teams and families regarding pediatric speech and language development

Estimated Pay Range: $40+ / hr (commensurate with experience, district budget, and candidate fit) • Flexibility with schedule and working 100% from home
