What You'll Do
As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will:
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations and assessments
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation findings and IEP goals
- Provide direct speech-language therapy to students with a variety of communication disorders
- Address speech, language, articulation, fluency, voice, social communication, and feeding/swallowing concerns as appropriate
- Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans based on data and outcomes
- Complete evaluation reports, progress notes, Medicaid documentation (when applicable), and other required records
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Consult with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop strategies that support student communication across educational settings
- Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations
Qualifications Required:
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active South Dakota Speech-Language Pathologist license or eligibility to obtain South Dakota licensure
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required
- Strong knowledge of special education procedures and IEP development
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Preferred
- Previous school-based experience
- Teletherapy or virtual service delivery experience
- Experience serving K–12 students
- Familiarity with Medicaid billing and educational documentation
- Experience working with diverse communication disorders and disabilities
