Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist in Oakland, CA
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting young learners as a Speech Language Pathologist in a dynamic elementary school setting. This full-time, contract position offers you the chance to impact students’ lives from now through June, with the option to continue for the entire upcoming school year. You’ll support approximately 45 elementary students with varied communication needs, utilizing your expertise to foster growth and independence. Begin making an impact right away, while enjoying a consistent 37.5-hour workweek. Qualified candidates will have:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
- Current or eligible California SLP license
- CCC-SLP or CFY status
- Experience or strong interest working in pediatric, school-based settings
- Familiarity with IEP development, progress monitoring, and collaborative multidisciplinary teaming
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
In this role, you will:
- Conduct evaluations, develop and implement IEPs, and provide direct and consultative speech therapy to elementary-aged students
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and other professionals to support student communication goals
- Supervise and guide SLPA support for service delivery and student progress
- Track, document, and report on student growth, maintaining compliance with IDEA and state regulations
- Participate in IEP meetings and educational planning, acting as a resource to staff and families
