A Speech Language Pathologist position is available to provide critical communication services in a vibrant K-12 school environment located in the Lower Valley area south of I-10, as well as an alternative location northeast of I-10. This full-time contract role runs through the end of the current school year, offering the opportunity to support students who have experienced significant service interruptions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive speech and language therapy services across PreK to 12th grade, focusing primarily on high school students with significant unmet needs.
- Manage and develop caseloads with 40 to 64 students, including backlogged IEPs and communication service plans.
- Conduct assessments, create individualized education programs (IEPs), and execute therapy sessions to address diverse speech and language challenges.
- Coordinate with educators and support staff to ensure continuity of care and progress monitoring.
- Maintain and organize necessary documentation and student records for compliance and program evaluation.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Experience working in school-based settings, with an emphasis on caseload management and IEP development.
- Ability to work full school days; part-time schedules considered only if full-day availability is maintained.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to address a backlog of service needs.
- Bilingual skills are a plus but not mandatory.
Location Details:
- Primary assignment in the Lower Valley, El Paso, TX (south of I-10) serving primarily high school students.
- Secondary option for service in K-8 schools located northeast of I-10.
