Teletherapy Speech Pathologist Opening in Rio Rancho | New Mexico Virtual Schools

Rio Rancho, NM
Soliant Health Schools - SLP Contract Today Apply

VocoVision specializes in connecting certified speech language pathologists with remote school-based positions throughout New Mexico, allowing you to serve students with communication challenges while enjoying the flexibility and convenience of working from home. Our virtual therapy model provides you with the technology, support, and student assignments needed to deliver effective services and make a real difference in students' educational experiences.

This remote SLP position typically requires 36-37.5 hours weekly, during which you'll manage approximately 50-60 students across various grade levels from kindergarten through high school. Your caseload will include students presenting with articulation and phonological disorders, expressive and receptive language delays, fluency challenges, social communication difficulties, and voice disorders. Through one-on-one and small group sessions conducted via secure video platforms, you'll implement evidence-based interventions targeting each student's IEP goals while adapting traditional therapy approaches for the virtual environment.

Your days will be filled with diverse activities supporting student communication development. You'll begin by conducting thorough speech and language evaluations when new referrals come in, administering standardized tests, completing language samples, and gathering information from parents and teachers to determine eligibility for services. Once students qualify, you'll craft individualized treatment plans with specific, measurable goals addressing their priority needs, whether improving articulation accuracy, expanding vocabulary and sentence complexity, developing social language skills, or increasing fluency. Therapy sessions leverage digital materials, interactive games, screen-sharing activities, and visual supports to keep students engaged and motivated while working on challenging skills.

Documentation forms a substantial part of this role, requiring you to write comprehensive evaluation reports with test scores, clinical observations, and eligibility determinations within mandated timelines. Progress reports track student advancement toward goals each grading period, and you'll update IEPs annually with new goals reflecting continued development. Daily session notes document attendance, activities implemented, and student performance data. Beyond direct services, you'll collaborate extensively with teachers by providing consultation about classroom communication supports, suggesting modifications for assignments, and explaining how communication difficulties impact academic performance. Parent communication keeps families informed and engaged, sharing progress updates, demonstrating therapy techniques they can use at home, and answering questions about their child's development.

Candidates must possess ASHA CCC-SLP certification and hold a current New Mexico speech language pathology license. Your Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology combined with two years of school-based experience provides the foundation for understanding educational regulations, IEP processes, and how to address communication needs within academic contexts. Technical requirements include a quiet, private workspace with dependable internet service, a computer with webcam and microphone, and comfort learning new software platforms for therapy delivery and documentation.
