Step into a rewarding contract Speech-Language Pathologist opportunity supporting students from preschool through 8th grade. This itinerant position offers a diverse experience, working across three to four school sites each week near Redding, CA. You'll provide essential services to a caseload of up to 55 students, whose needs range from speech disabilities to more severe disabilities, including autism and intellectual disabilities.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid or pending SLP license; CTC (California Teaching Credential) preferred
- Experience with school-age children, especially in educational settings
- Comfort supporting a wide spectrum of student needs, including severe disabilities
- Strong communication and organizational skills for multi-site coordination
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs, deliver therapy, and collaborate with educators and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments, develop appropriate treatment goals, and deliver speech and language therapy
- Manage a maximum caseload of 55 students spanning ages 3 (preschool) to 8th grade, traveling among assigned schools
- Craft and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), documenting all progress and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Provide direct intervention and consultative support to staff and families
- Offer expertise and advocacy to help every student communicate to their fullest potential
This is a full-time, contract role offering 40 hours per week. You will have the chance to work with a dynamic student population, coordinate services across multiple campuses, and play an essential role in helping students build their communication skills and succeed in the classroom.
