Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Puyallup, WA
An excellent opportunity is available for a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position in the Tacoma area, specifically located near Lakewood, WA. This contract role begins as soon as possible and runs through mid-June 2026, providing stability and meaningful work within a school environment.
The primary focus will be supporting students in early childhood settings, addressing various speech and language needs. This position does not accept Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs), allowing for direct involvement in all aspects of caseload management and student progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for early childhood students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans addressing articulation, language development, fluency, voice, and related communication disorders.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to ensure optimal student support and progress.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to ongoing professional development.
Qualifications and Experience Needed:
- Valid state licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Experience working in school settings, preferably with early childhood populations.
- Strong knowledge of speech and language development and disorders.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
