This contract position offers full-time hours through the end of the current school year and is open to candidates who thrive in either on-site or teletherapy (VOCO) environments. Located in the vibrant Portage, IN area, you will have the opportunity to support diverse learners across multiple schools as an itinerant SLP.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Hold an active Indiana SLP license and ASHA CCC certification
- Strong background in pediatric speech-language pathology, particularly within school settings
- Experience delivering teletherapy services, in addition to traditional, on-site SLP support
- Skilled in managing K-12 caseloads and adapting strategies across age and development levels
- Proficiency in educational IEP systems, and confident in conducting assessments, writing reports, and attending team meetings
- Familiarity with itinerant roles and comfort with travel between multiple assignments (mileage reimbursement may be available)
- Ability to meet credentialing requirements, including background checks and fingerprinting
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy and evaluations for students in grades K-12
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating closely with educators and families
- Serve as an integral member of the special education team, contributing expertise during IEP meetings and contract review processes
- Adapt therapy delivery for both on-site and virtual (VOCO) environments as needed
- Accurately document student progress and manage reports in compliance with school and district standards
