This opportunity is ideal for licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) eager to make a significant impact within school environments along the Southeast Florida Coast. The position offers the chance to work onsite primarily in Port Saint Lucie and Ft. Pierce with a focus on conducting evaluations, especially for students with autism spectrum disorders, supporting the district in managing an evaluation backlog.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct speech-language evaluations, emphasizing assessments for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Manage caseloads that span early childhood through K-8 aged students
  • Collaborate with onsite teams including SLPs, Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs), and educational staff
  • Work within diverse settings including K-8 schools with specialized units for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) and ASD students
  • Adapt to flexible scheduling with opportunities for full-time or part-time work across one or two school sites

Qualifications:

  • Active Speech-Language Pathology licensure
  • Experience completing evaluations for students with autism is strongly preferred
  • Willingness to undergo fingerprinting for credentialing purposes (may use existing Department of Health prints)
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary school team environment

Location & Schedule:

  • Primary locations include Oak Hammock K-8 in Port Saint Lucie and CA Moore K-7 and FK Sweet Elementary in Ft. Pierce, Florida
  • Schedule options range from 2 days per week at Oak Hammock to full-time across two schools in Ft. Pierce or part-time split placements
