School Speech Language Pathologist - Plainfield, Illinois
Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathologist for the 2026–2027 school year, based at a vibrant elementary campus near Plainfield, IL. In this full-time, in-person contract position, you’ll work closely with students in the STARS Program, supporting those with moderate to significant communication, sensory, and social-emotional needs. Your expertise will help young learners reach crucial milestones in their communication development.
What You'll Do:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations to inform individualized treatment planning.
- Deliver direct therapy services aligned with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals focused on communication skills.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, special education professionals, occupational therapists, psychologists, and families.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation, including progress reports and therapy notes.
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions to ensure holistic student support.
- Utilize evidence-based strategies to address complex communication needs.
What We’re Looking For:
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Endorsement.
- Prior experience in a school-based setting is preferred.
- Skills in supporting students with autism spectrum disorders and complex communication needs are highly valued.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities, with a collaborative approach.
Position Highlights:
- Assignment dates: 2026–2027 School Year
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:45 AM–4:00 PM, 33.75 hours per week
- Caseload focuses on students with a range of support needs within a single school environment
- Interview process will be conducted remotely
- District fingerprinting required for onboarding
