Pediatric School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Paterson, New Jersey

This assignment spans several timeframes—including the remainder of the school year, an extended summer program, and the start of the next academic year. The position offers a consistent weekday schedule, engaging you with a caseload of roughly 25 students, predominantly preschool-aged and including those in self-contained programs (multiple disabilities, Autism, Preschool Disabled).
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current or eligible SLP licensure
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred; Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates also considered
- Prior experience in school settings or working with pediatric clients
- Familiarity with IEPs, progress monitoring, and collaborative strategies
- Strong interpersonal, organization, and documentation skills
- Comfortable providing services to young students with a variety of communication needs, including those on the autism spectrum or with multiple disabilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver therapeutic speech and language services to students ages 3–8 in both general and self-contained classes
- Develop and implement IEP goals, conduct evaluations, and track progress
- Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and families
- Support students’ inclusion and participation in classroom activities
- Maintain timely and accurate records in compliance with school standards
Role Timeline:
- May 1–June 12: Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–3:00 pm
- June 29–July 30 (Extended Year): Monday–Thursday, 8:30 am–12:30 pm
- September 8–October 20: Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–3:00 pm
