A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed to support a dynamic school setting serving young children with diverse needs in Paterson, NJ. This role is ideal for an SLP with expertise in pediatrics and school-based services, including candidates with Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) credential.
Position Details:
- Contract role spanning multiple phases:
- May 1, 2026 to June 12, 2026: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- Extended School Year program from June 29 to July 30, Monday through Thursday, 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM
- New school year from September 8 to October 20, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- Caseload includes approximately 25 students, primarily preschool-aged (3-8 years), including children in self-contained classrooms with multiple disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and other preschool disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver effective speech and language therapy tailored to preschool and young elementary students with various developmental and communication needs.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans for students in both regular and self-contained classroom settings.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to assess progress and adapt therapies.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with school policies and legal requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid SLP license with CCC or currently in CFY.
- Experience providing pediatric and school-based speech therapy.
- Familiarity working with children with Autism, multiple disabilities, and other developmental challenges.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
