Pediatric Speech Pathology - Paterson, NJ
A rewarding opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide specialized services within an elementary school setting. This position involves supporting a caseload of 19 students, primarily those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), delivering essential speech and language therapy that fosters communication development and academic success.
Located in Paterson, NJ, this contract role is scheduled for two days per week, Thursdays and Fridays, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM during the current school year. Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP - CCC)
- Experience in both school and healthcare settings related to pediatrics
- Familiarity with teletherapy service delivery is a plus
- Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (SLP - CFY) or equivalent experience
- Experience working with Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPA) is advantageous
- Proven ability to manage an elementary caseload, ideally supporting students with ASD
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide direct therapy services to a diverse caseload focusing on ASD-related communication challenges
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including educators, parents, and healthcare professionals
- Document student progress and maintain compliance with educational and healthcare regulations
- Utilize evidence-based practices to enhance student outcomes
