A part-time speech-language pathologist role is available at a school in Chicago Heights, IL, offering a rewarding opportunity to support students with diverse communication needs. This contract position requires working three days per week and focuses on delivering specialized speech and language therapy to students aged 2 to 22 with moderate to severe disabilities.
Responsibilities include contributing to the planning and execution of therapy services across a range of areas such as assistive technology, augmentative communication, social language skills, articulation, voice, oral-motor function, feeding, and addressing receptive and expressive language delays. The role involves performing diagnostic and evaluation testing, preparing clear and comprehensive reports based on student assessments and observations, and developing and maintaining Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives. Effective collaboration and communication with parents and colleagues to discuss student progress and support needs are essential.
Candidates must hold or be eligible for an Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) license and a Professional Educator License (PEL). The ideal applicant will have at least 1-2 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist, strong communication abilities, teamwork skills, flexibility, and problem-solving capabilities.
