School-Based SLP | Oakland, California
A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for a full-time, on-site contract through the end of the current school year. This role supports Pre-K intake assessments and provides FMLA coverage for an elementary school in Oakland, CA. Candidates must hold a valid Speech-Language Pathologist license from the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA). Candidates in the candidate pool should possess professional experience in school-based speech-language pathology, preferably with credentials or certification from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist licensure from DCA mandatory
- Educator credential preferred but not required; professional speech services credential from CTC desired
- Experience conducting Pre-K intake assessments within an elementary school setting
- Strong understanding of school-based speech and language service delivery
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or bilingual skills are highly preferred
- Candidates with active Clinical Certification in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) favored
- Clear, professional communication skills and ability to work onsite full-time
Location:
- Onsite at an elementary school in Oakland, California
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive Pre-K intake speech and language assessments to inform educational planning
- Provide speech-language services aligned with district guidelines and student needs
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress
- Maintain accurate documentation in line with state and district compliance standards
- Cover for an existing SLP on FMLA leave through June 3, 2026
