Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join a specialized educational program serving students in Pre-K through 12th grade in the Oak Forest, IL area. The program provides a language-rich learning environment designed to support students with significant communication needs and other complex learning and developmental needs.
The SLP will collaborate with teachers, special education staff, families, and related service providers to support students' communication, academic participation, social-emotional development, and functional independence.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide speech and language therapy to students across Pre-K–12th grade.
- Evaluate students' communication skills and develop appropriate treatment goals.
- Implement individualized therapy plans based on students' educational and communication needs.
- Support receptive, expressive, pragmatic, and functional communication skills.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and special education teams to integrate communication goals into the academic environment.
- Support students who use AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) and other communication supports, as appropriate.
- Help students develop functional communication skills for academic, social, behavioral, and transition-related settings.
- Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, progress monitoring, and documentation.
- Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary team members to promote consistency across settings.
- Provide strategies and consultation to staff to support students' communication and emotional regulation needs.
- Help prepare students for increased independence and post-secondary transition opportunities.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal SLP is compassionate, collaborative, and comfortable working with students who have complex communication and developmental needs. Experience working with autism, significant communication disorders, AAC, and special education populations is highly valued.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Appropriate Illinois SLP licensure/certification.
- ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Experience in a school-based setting preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary special education team.
