School Speech Language Pathologist - Niceville, FL
Embark on a rewarding career journey as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist, supporting students in the vibrant communities north of Destin, FL. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity begins in August and extends through early June, offering up to 37.5 hours per week. Three positions are available, with caseloads at either a single school location or serving as an itinerant professional supporting two campuses. The specific age groups and caseload details will be shared during the interview process, but assignments range from Pre-K through age 22.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Florida DOH Provisional SLP License is required
- Prior school-based experience is strongly preferred
- Proven skill in delivering individualized and group speech/language therapy
- Ability to adapt therapy techniques to varying age groups and student needs
- Efficient documentation and case management practices
- Clear and effective communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Successful completion of fingerprinting/background checks per Florida requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide diagnostic and therapeutic speech-language services in an engaging school setting
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to support student growth
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and student evaluations
- Maintain accurate records and progress notes in compliance with district and state standards
- Foster a supportive, inclusive environment for students of all abilities
This position is strictly onsite, ensuring face-to-face interaction and collaboration within the school community. Credentialing is time-sensitive, with fingerprinting and security clearance required before the start date.
