Pediatric School Speech Therapist - Newark, New Jersey
A skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed for a contract assignment supporting school-based services in Newark, NJ. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing specialized pediatric speech-language therapy to students from early childhood through fifth grade. The role involves working within two schools on an itinerant basis with some paid travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language pathology services to children in grades EC to 5th, focusing on caseload overflow coverage
- Collaborate with school teams to support student Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide direct and indirect therapy services in accordance with district protocols
- Maintain thorough documentation and participate in team meetings as required
- Use the district’s designated IEP system, with training provided
- Utilize dedicated therapy spaces to optimize session effectiveness
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) strongly preferred
- Experience in pediatric and school-based SLP settings
- Valid state licensure for practicing as an SLP in New Jersey
- Ability to manage caseloads in a fast-paced educational environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with school staff and families
Position Details:
- Location: Newark, NJ, servicing two local schools
- Contract duration: Immediate start through June 19, 2026
- Work schedule: 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
- Services: Itinerant with paid travel between schools
