Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Des Plaines, IL
A school-based Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available to support students in a K-12 educational environment. Location: Des Plaines, IL
Duration: Current School Year (CSY) contract, with assignments starting early January and ending in May
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language evaluations and therapy to students across varied school settings, including early childhood programs
- Manage an itinerant caseload that may span multiple school locations to meet student needs
- Collaborate with educational teams to develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and track student progress
- Utilize bilingual skills to support English and Spanish-speaking students and families
- Maintain compliance with relevant state licensure requirements and professional standards
Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License with an SLP endorsement and IL Speech Language Pathologist license
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
- Willingness to work across several school sites as part of an itinerant assignment
- Recent graduates (CFs) are welcome with supervision provided
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and educators
