Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Hold a valid North Carolina State License in Speech Language Pathology and Educator Certification
- Possess a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Prior experience in a school-based SLP role, high school level preferred
- Specialized knowledge of Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) devices
- Deep commitment to supporting medically fragile and minimally verbal students
- Strong collaboration skills to work alongside an experienced, flexible colleague
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to a caseload of approximately 25-35 high school students, with the majority receiving indirect services through support plans
- Collaborate closely with another compassionate SLP, contributing to a coordinated approach for student care
- Assist in developing, implementing, and tracking Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Employ AAC expertise to help students achieve their communication goals
- Participate in planning sessions before and after the academic year, as needed
