This contract position offers a summer opportunity to provide speech-language pathology services in a K-12 school setting in Newark, DE. The role supports students across multiple educational levels during the Extended School Year (ESY) program, running from late June through early August 2026.
Candidates with a valid Delaware SLP license are encouraged to apply. This opening welcomes certified SLPs, including Clinical Fellows, but does not accept Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA). The position requires commitment Monday through Thursday, with varying hours depending on the site served.
Key Qualifications:
- Delaware Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license (required)
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology preferred
- Experience working in K-12 educational settings, including elementary, secondary, early childhood, or transition-age (18-22) programs
- Availability to work ESY schedule: Monday to Thursday, with specified hours according to location
- Willingness to complete fingerprint background check at candidate’s expense
Locations and Hours:
- PS DuPont: Elementary & Secondary students, 8:00 am–2:30 pm (staff: 7:30 am–3:00 pm); Secondary ESY, 8:00 am–12:00 pm (staff: 7:30 am–12:30 pm)
- Hanby Elementary ESY: 8:30 am–12:30 pm (staff: 8:00 am–1:00 pm)
- SITE (ages 18-22): 7:45 am–2:15 pm (staff: 7:15 am–2:45 pm)
- Early Childhood Education (Bush & Brumskill): 8:30 am–11:00 am (staff: 8:00 am–11:30 am)
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language services to students according to individual education plans
- Collaborate with educators and other professionals to support student progress
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in ESY program activities
