Pediatric School-Based Speech Language Pathologist - Miami, Florida
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity in beautiful south Florida, supporting children’s communication development in a pediatric outpatient clinic setting. This role focuses on providing individualized therapy to children ages 2 to 18, primarily with mild to moderate needs. As a dedicated speech-language pathologist, you’ll help young clients strengthen their skills in pragmatics, receptive and expressive language, reading, writing, articulation, and provide specialized support for children with high functioning autism.
Position Highlights:
- One-year contract with the potential for extensions or a permanent offer
- Serve children individually rather than in groups – create personalized therapy plans and meaningful relationships
- Caseload includes no medically fragile children, focusing on those with mild to moderate needs
- Address a broad range of speech and language challenges including articulation, social communication, reading, writing, and autism-related support
- Participate actively in the assessment, evaluation, direct therapy, and contribute to IEP meetings
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
- Valid CCC-SLP or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) considered – recent graduates encouraged to apply
- Previous experience in a pediatric, outpatient, or school setting is highly valued
- Strong skills in collaborative communication, assessment, and individualized plan development
- Prepared to oversee direct therapy, evaluations, and consult with a multidisciplinary team
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations for incoming clients
- Develop and implement targeted therapy sessions on a one-to-one basis for children ages 2–18
- Monitor progress, update goals, and maintain thorough documentation
- Actively participate in IEP meetings and contribute your clinical expertise
- Partner with families and school personnel to support student goals both in and out of the clinic
