A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) contract opportunity is available in Metairie, LA, with an expected start date ASAP and continued through the end of the school year, with potential for renewal. This position offers a dynamic caseload working primarily with pediatric populations in a school-based setting, focused on delivering targeted speech and language interventions.
Two SLP positions are open:
- One role is based in a high school.
- The other is in a K-8 school.
Both positions carry a caseload ranging from 30 to 50 students, with about 50% of services provided to English Learners in New Orleans. The work involves implementing speech-language intervention plans and providing minutes as required. Evaluation responsibilities are handled by dedicated staff, so these roles focus exclusively on intervention and observation, offering a collaborative and streamlined approach to student care.
Key qualifications and skills include:
- Current SLP license with Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred.
- Experience working in school-based speech-language pathology.
- Comfort working with pediatric populations, including English Learners.
- Ability to deliver direct intervention services and conduct behavioral observations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Responsibilities:
