A long-term substitute opportunity is available for a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) specializing in pediatrics within a school setting. This contract position spans from February 23 to April 17 and offers weekday hours from 8:35 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The role focuses on providing direct speech and language services to PreK through 1st grade students, including working with those who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting speech and language assessments and therapy sessions tailored to young learners
- Collaborating with educators and support staff to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Supporting students with communication needs, particularly AAC device users, to enhance their expressive and receptive language skills
- Maintaining accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with school policies
Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:
- Certification as a Speech Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP) with pediatric experience
- Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) completed or in progress with school-based experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of AAC devices and strategies to support students with complex communication needs
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with young children
