Preferred skills and qualifications:
- Valid license or certification as an SLP-CCC, SLP-CFY, or SLPA (California licensure required or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience working with K-12 students or in pediatric therapy strongly preferred
- Background in school-based speech-language services
- Ability to assess, diagnose, and treat a diverse caseload including students with communication, language, articulation, and fluency challenges
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication abilities
- Collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working alongside educators and other therapists
- Candidates with school-based SLPA experience are welcome to apply
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to K-12 students, tailored to individual education plans (IEPs)
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans based on assessments and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in IEP meetings, share progress updates with staff and families, and maintain thorough records
- Support communication development through both individualized and group sessions
- Collaborate closely with educators, special education staff, and parents to support student success
