A school-based opportunity is available for a licensed professional with specialized certification in auditory-verbal therapy to support students in a Los Angeles-area school setting. This part-time contract position requires an experienced Listening and Spoken Language Specialist with Certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist (LSLS Cert. AVT) credentials.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine students’ need for Auditory Verbal Therapy (AVT) services.
- Provide monthly 60-minute individual AVT sessions for students deemed eligible following assessment.
- Collaborate with educators, audiologists, and speech therapists to support students’ auditory and spoken language development.
- Maintain documentation and progress reports in compliance with state and national standards.
- Adhere to all licensing and certification requirements to ensure high-quality therapeutic intervention.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must hold the national Listening and Spoken Language Specialist – Certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist (LSLS Cert. AVT) certification.
- Hold a valid state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), Audiologist, or Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH).
- Demonstrated experience working in school settings providing auditory-verbal therapy or related services.
- Strong assessment and therapeutic skills focused on auditory and spoken language development.
