School-Based Speech Language Pathologist - Liberty, Missouri

Seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a contract assignment covering a leave at an elementary school. This opportunity provides hands-on experience in a dynamic educational environment, with a full-time schedule from 8:50 AM to 4:25 PM. The assignment is set to start as soon as possible and runs until December 4th, with the potential for extension.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid and active Missouri SLP (CCC) or SLPA license required
- Experience working within school settings, ideally with elementary-age students
- Ability to effectively manage a diverse caseload, including students from 1st, 2nd, and 5th grades, as well as students in specialized programs
- Strong collaboration skills for working with teachers, staff, and students
- Competence in delivering both individualized and group therapy sessions
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a direct caseload of 37 students, with 2 consults and one pending additional student
- Support students in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th grades, kindergarten, and specialized programs, including older FIT kids and cross-categorical rooms
- Facilitate a weekly in-class language group session every Tuesday in the FIT room
- Supervise front car rider morning duty and assist with afternoon dismissal for second-grade and kindergarten students
- Collaborate with peers and families to support student success and growth
