Travel Speech Therapist in Las Cruces, NM

A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) clinician is sought for a full-time (40 hours preferred) or part-time role in Las Cruces, NM. This travel assignment supports a small, very supportive school district serving students in structured communication classrooms and general education settings. The position starts ASAP and extends through the end of the school year.
Location
This role is based in Las Cruces, southern New Mexico, an area known for its stunning natural beauty near El Paso, Deming, Truth or Consequences, and White Sands National Park.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver speech-language services primarily in pediatric school settings
- Manage a caseload of approximately 60 students, including three Structured Communication Classrooms (SCCs)
- Support students using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC); experience preferred but not required—willingness to learn is essential
- Collaborate with a small, dedicated team within a supportive district environment
Qualifications
- Valid New Mexico state licensure is required prior to start (application status must be advanced; cannot start without licensure)
- New Mexico PED certification highly preferred (can be pending at start if licensed)
- CCC-SLP credential (Certificate of Clinical Competence) is highly desirable
- Experience or interest in school-based pediatrics and working with AAC
- Bilingual candidates are ideal, though monolingual clinicians are welcome
- Clinical Fellowship Year candidates (CFY) are encouraged to apply
