School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Lake Mary, Florida

Volusia County Public Schools seeks Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) for contract roles spanning elementary, middle, and high school settings. Openings are available at several sites with a variety of schedules—including full-time and part-time opportunities for the upcoming school year. If you're an experienced clinician or a Clinical Fellow (CF) ready to start your career with robust supervision, this is your chance to contribute to a caring, student-centered environment.
Candidates should possess:
- Active Florida SLP License (CCC preferred)
- Prior experience in a school setting, with strong skills evaluating and serving students aged PreK–12
- Specialized experience supporting students with severe-profound disabilities and utilizing augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with staff and families
- Adaptability to work with diverse student populations and case types
- Strong organizational skills to maintain records, write reports, and participate in IEP meetings
Role responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive speech, language, and communication evaluations
- Developing and implementing individualized therapy plans based on student IEPs
- Providing direct and consultative services to students in individual and group settings
- Engaging in interdisciplinary collaboration with educators, aides, and families
- Documenting progress, maintaining compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Supporting positive student outcomes through evidence-based practices and AAC integration
Start your school-based adventure August 4th, 2026, through May 28th, 2027, with a 37.5 hour workweek and placement flexibility (maternity leave coverage and full-year assignments available).
