Two Full-Time Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) are needed to support K-12 students within a dynamic school setting in Metairie, LA. This contract position begins ASAP and extends through the end of the school year, with a potential for renewal. Responsibilities are split between a high school and a K-8 school, each providing vital intervention services to students, including a significant portion of English Learners (50% EL, New Orleans based).
Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted speech-language interventions to a caseload of 30 to 50 students.
- Conduct speech therapy sessions focused solely on intervention; evaluations are completed by other team members.
- Provide observational support as needed, collaborating closely with school staff.
- Maintain accurate records and track progress related to therapy goals.
- Adapt methodologies according to student needs to maximize therapeutic outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist certification (SLP - CCC preferred).
- Experience working in school settings (K-12) and/or pediatric healthcare environments.
- Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) preferred.
- Strong skills in working with diverse student populations, including English Learners.
- Ability to manage moderate-to-large caseloads effectively and compassionately.
