School Speech Language Pathologist - Kansas City, Missouri
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in an engaging elementary school setting near Kansas City, Missouri. This assignment will begin as soon as possible and currently runs through December 4, with potential for extension. You’ll be covering for a leave, working with a diverse caseload including 1st, 2nd, and 5th graders, older students in a Focused Instructional Team (FIT) program, and a cross-categorical room.
Experience the variety and impact of hands-on learning in your daily schedule, from conducting in-class language groups every Tuesday in the FIT room to fulfilling important supervisory roles during car rider and dismissal duties. Your day will run from 8:50 AM to 4:25 PM, offering consistency and full-time hours.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid and active Missouri licensure as an SLP-CCC or SLPA
- Previous school-based experience is highly desirable
- Familiarity with a range of elementary student needs and IEP processes
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Ability to engage in both direct therapy and consultative support
Role Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of approximately 37 direct and 2 consult students (with a pending third consult)
- Deliver individual and group speech-language interventions
- Participate in in-class language group sessions weekly
- Consult with teachers and staff to support student success
- Supervise during morning car rider duty and afternoon dismissal for second grade and kindergarten ball field walkers
