A contracted Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available for the 2026-2027 school year, providing essential services within an elementary and pre-school setting in Jacksonville, NC. This position involves travel to various local schools, offering a dynamic work environment supporting children’s speech and language development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct speech, language, and hearing screenings; administer formal and informal assessments.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based interventions tailored to individual and group needs.
  • Maintain detailed student records and prepare periodic reports.
  • Consult with parents, teachers, and school personnel regarding speech-language programs.
  • Coordinate services between the school and community resources.
  • Adapt intervention strategies based on student progress.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to manage speech-language disorders.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws governing school speech-language services.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists (NCBOESLPA).
  • Considerable knowledge of childhood speech and hearing development and communication disorders.
  • Familiarity with laws and regulations related to school-based speech-language services.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop positive working relationships.
  • Ability to manage physical demands including standing, walking, lifting up to 30 pounds, and driving to multiple school sites.

Employment Details:

  • Contracted, 10-month position aligned with the school year.
  • Assigned to multiple local school locations, requiring regular travel within Jacksonville, NC.
