School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Independence, Missouri

A well-respected school in the North Kansas City area is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to cover a leave of absence, starting as soon as possible and continuing through December 4th—with potential to extend. This full-time contract position offers a supportive environment and a consistent weekday schedule of around 8am–4pm.
As the SLP, you’ll step into a valued role providing essential speech and language therapy services to students, in collaboration with fellow educational professionals. Your expertise will help young learners build vital communication skills, supporting their academic achievements and social growth.
What You Need to Bring:
- Active SLP license in Missouri (required)
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Experience delivering school-based speech-language services preferred
- Strong communication skills and a passion for student development
- Ability to adapt and problem-solve in a dynamic school setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders for a diverse caseload (details forthcoming)
- Develop and implement IEPs in coordination with the multidisciplinary team
- Maintain thorough, accurate documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines
- Engage caregivers and educators to support student progress
- Participate in virtual interviews and collaborate effectively in a school environment
