Pre-School Elementary Speech Language Pathologist in Hubert, NC
This contracted position offers a rewarding opportunity for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to work within an elementary and pre-kindergarten school setting for the 2026-2027 academic year in Hubert, NC. As a contracted employee assigned to a local school district, you will play a vital role in supporting early childhood communication development through evidence-based interventions and collaboration with educators and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech, language, and hearing screenings, along with formal and informal assessments to inform individualized treatment plans.
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services to elementary and pre-school students, adjusting strategies based on ongoing student performance.
- Maintain accurate records of therapy programs and prepare necessary reports.
- Offer consultation and collaborate with parents, teachers, and school personnel to support student success.
- Stay informed and compliant with Federal, State, and Local laws governing school speech-language services.
- Facilitate coordination between the school and external community resources to enhance service delivery.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Hold or be eligible for licensure through the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists (NCBOESLPA).
- Considerable knowledge of childhood speech and hearing development as well as communication disorder treatments.
- Strong ability to build positive working relationships and maintain professional communication.
- Understanding of relevant laws and regulations impacting speech-language services in schools.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and lift up to 15 pounds routinely.
- Capable of facilitating student evacuations during emergencies.
- Comfortable driving to multiple school sites within the district.
This position is structured with a 10-month term and compensation aligned with the NC Speech-Language Pathologist Salary Schedule. Detailed information will be provided during the interview process.
