A licensed Texas Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed for a full-time contract opportunity in Houston, TX, within an elementary school setting. This role requires active Texas licensure and relevant school-based experience, offering two assignment options tailored to candidate strengths and preferences. The position runs through June 4, 2026.
Location:
- Houston, TX (East and Southwest Houston preferred)
- Possible campuses include Tijerina ES, Burnet ES, Laurenzo ECC, or Herod Elementary.
Responsibilities:
- Option 1 (Itinerant - STAT): Conduct assessments, evaluations, and participate in IEP/referral meetings; bilingual skills are highly desirable.
- Option 2 (Campus-Based at Herod Elementary): Provide direct therapy services, manage referrals and evaluations with an approximate caseload of 58 students.
- Collaborate with educational teams to support student communication needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with school policies.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Texas SLP license (license verification required).
- Proven experience with school-based speech-language pathology.
- Special education experience preferred, particularly working with autism and behavioral challenges.
- No VOCO candidates accepted.
- Reliable transportation and ability to commute to assigned campus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage caseloads effectively.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Prior experience within the Texas school system is a plus.
