Speech-Language Pathologist in Decatur, AL

A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available within an elementary school setting in Decatur, AL, for the contract school year starting ASAP or the beginning of the January semester through May 22, 2026. This role offers approximately 37.5 hours per week and involves splitting responsibilities with another SLP.
Key responsibilities include delivering direct speech-language therapy services to elementary students, conducting assessments, and developing individualized education programs (IEPs). Candidates must have both school-based and virtual therapy experience. Familiarity with Alabama state laws and educational procedures is preferred, as is experience with case management and IEP documentation through platforms such as PowerSchool. Para support will be available to assist by escorting students to therapy sessions.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Valid Alabama State SLP license required
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred
- Experience in school-based speech-language pathology, including virtual services
- Knowledge of Alabama education laws and regulations a strong advantage
- Familiarity with IEP creation and case management systems (PowerSchool experience a plus)
- Ability to collaborate with educational staff and support personnel
