School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Waelder, Texas
Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathologist supporting young learners at the elementary level. This position provides vital services to students in grades K-2, working with a diverse caseload at a dynamic elementary school. With paid travel time between assignments and collaboration within a supportive therapy team, your expertise will have a meaningful impact on children’s communication skills and educational success.
Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing and implementing therapy plans, and actively participating in IEP meetings. You will primarily serve speech-only students, as well as those receiving multiple services, collaborating closely with existing staff to optimize student outcomes. Caseload support from another therapist means you’ll have a manageable, balanced workload while ensuring life-skills students are fully supported.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Valid Texas license as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Previous experience in a school setting or strong pediatric background preferred
- Excellent skills in assessment, therapy intervention, and documentation
- Ability to manage a varied caseload with empathy and organization
- Strong communication and collaborative skills, especially for working with teachers, families, and fellow therapists
Key responsibilities:
- Complete speech-language assessments and maintain compliance with IEP requirements
- Deliver individualized or group therapy sessions
- Track student progress and make data-based recommendations
- Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings and assist with developing IEP goals
- Travel between school sites with paid travel time
