Pediatric School Speech Language Pathologist - Goddard, Kansas
Make a meaningful difference every day by supporting high school students as a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist for the entire school year. You'll collaborate with a dedicated team of educators to serve a high school caseload primarily focused on students in low incidence categorical classrooms, including mixed abilities and life skills programs. Desired Skills and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid state licensure or eligibility (Speech-Language Pathologist - CCC or CFY considered)
- Previous experience in healthcare, pediatric, or school-based SLP settings highly valued
- Familiarity with populations with significant and complex needs, especially within educational settings
- Strong ability to assess, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans for a range of speech and language disorders
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, parents, and administrators
- Compassion, flexibility, and creativity in support strategies
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language therapy services to high school students in categorical classrooms with mixed abilities and life skills
- Conduct formal and informal evaluations, document findings, and create individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with educators, paraprofessionals, and families to support student progress toward goals
- Deliver direct and consultative speech-language services tailored to students' unique needs
- Engage in ongoing data collection and progress monitoring to inform instruction and intervention modifications
- Participate in IEP meetings and professional development opportunities throughout the year
