Speech Therapist in Bel Air, MD
A professional opportunity is available for certified Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) to provide services within a K-12 school setting in Bel Air, MD. These positions involve working with a diverse student population across preschool, elementary, and middle school levels within a public school district in the Baltimore area. Both full-time and part-time assignments are available, with the potential for contract extensions into extended school year (ESY) services during July 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy to preschool students at community preschool locations on a daily itinerant schedule.
- Provide therapy services to elementary students at two elementary schools with a split-week schedule.
- Serve middle school students, including supervising a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support therapy services.
- Collaborate with educators and staff to design and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Maintain thorough documentation and adhere to district policies including background checks and fingerprinting per House Bill 486.
Qualifications:
- Active Maryland Professional Speech-Language Pathology License (CCC certification preferred).
- Ability to pass time-sensitive credentialing requirements, including district background/fingerprinting checks.
- Strong communication and organizational skills appropriate for K-12 educational settings.
- Experience working with preschool through middle school age groups.
- Supervisory experience is required for middle school assignments involving SLPA oversight.
Assignment Details:
- Positions available starting January to March 2026 with various contract lengths through May, with options to extend into July ESY.
- Full-time positions: 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- Part-time position: 30 hours a week, Monday through Thursday with potential for five-day coverage.
- Assigned schools include community preschools, Magnolia and Prospect Mill Elementary Schools, and Aberdeen Middle School.
