The role entails a 3/2 split: three days per week on-site and two days remote. You’ll collaborate with a dedicated school community and contribute to individualized student progress through therapy, assessments, and participation in IEP meetings. The assignment will cover multiple schools, with the specific caseload varying—expect to work with a diverse age group of students, providing a well-rounded professional experience.
Qualifications:
- Active and current Virginia SLP license required
- Prior experience or internship in a school setting preferred
- Ability to adapt to a varying caseload and multitask in hybrid environments
- Strong organizational and communication skills for collaborating with students, educators, and families
- Immediate ability to begin the VA Department of Social Services clearance process
- Willingness to provide a current TB test as part of credentialing
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings, evaluations, and provide direct speech-language therapy services
- Participate in the development and implementation of IEPs
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date progress records
- Engage in both in-person and virtual meetings, collaborating with education teams
- Offer parent and staff consultations related to student communication needs
This contract begins August 3, 2026 and continues through May 26, 2027, spanning the academic year. Hours are full-time at 37.5 weekly, ensuring you’re fully immersed in helping students reach their full communication potential.
