A full and part-time opportunity is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support evaluation efforts within a vibrant school district located along the Southeast Florida coast. This contract position runs from ASAP through June 2, 2026, and involves working onsite primarily in Fort Pierce, FL, with assignments at one or two schools depending on placement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations, with a focus on helping the district manage a backlog of assessments.
- Perform evaluations for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), utilizing specialized expertise in this area.
- Collaborate closely with onsite staff including SLPs and Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) at schools with diverse student populations and services.
- Work with students across various grade levels, including K-8, within general and specialized educational units.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district policies and professional standards.
Qualifications:
- Active SLP licensure in the state of Florida.
- Experience conducting evaluations for Autism students is essential.
- Ability to work onsite at assigned schools with flexibility to cover multiple locations if necessary.
- Fingerprint clearance is required; potential to use Department of Health fingerprinting to expedite onboarding.
Location and Schedule:
- Primary sites include Oak Hammock K-8 in Port St. Lucie (2 days per week) and CA Moore K-7 / FK Sweet Elementary in Fort Pierce, with full-time or split part-time schedules.
- Oak Hammock includes a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) cluster site staffed with an SLP and SLPA full-time.
- FK Sweet Elementary hosts an ASD unit.
