Make a meaningful impact in K-12 settings by supporting students’ communication development as a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work with diverse student populations across multiple Michigan communities, including the Flint, Grand Blanc, Lansing, and Detroit areas. Assignments will begin as soon as possible and run through June 12, 2026, with the possibility of renewal for the following school year.
Required Qualifications:
- Current Michigan SLP license; CFYs must hold a valid temporary license.
- SLP-CCC highly preferred, but strong CFY candidates may be considered—supervisors are preferred for CFYs.
- Official university transcripts must be submitted before district presentation.
- Willingness to work onsite across assigned school buildings.
- Comfort working with K-12 students, adapting support by age and need.
- Candidates should be prepared to discuss strategies and resources for serving urban students and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and group speech/language therapy to support student success.
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and staff to integrate communication strategies in the classroom.
- Write and track student goals and objectives; actively participate in IEP and MET meetings.
- Maintain comprehensive and compliant records for all students on your caseload.
- Provide diagnostic evaluations and clear reports to determine service eligibility.
- Work closely with staff to deliver in-service training and professional development.
- Support students using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems.
- Organize and maintain assessment and therapy resources for easy accessibility.
- Travel between school sites as required.
- Carry out various related duties as assigned.
