Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid Michigan SLP license or proof of application with pending status for consideration
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) highly preferred; Clinical Fellows (CFYs) may be considered, especially if a supervising SLP relationship is already established
- Comfort with on-site, in-person work across multiple school buildings
- Experience with urban student populations and familiarity with relevant resources is valued—be prepared to discuss in interviews
- Ability to provide official university transcripts before district presentation
- K-12 caseload proficiency, adaptable to varying student needs
- Strong collaborative skills for teamwork with educators and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and group speech-language therapy to eligible students, focusing on personalized communication goals
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and staff to embed speech and language development into instruction
- Develop, implement, and monitor annual goals and objectives; actively participate in IEP and MET meetings
- Maintain meticulous records, progress notes, and required documentation per all regulatory guidelines
- Coordinate referrals for further speech-language services and consult as a team member
- Conduct thorough student evaluations and prepare detailed, actionable reports
- Provide AAC support and promote best practice strategies for both school and home environments
- Ensure organization and maintenance of therapy materials and equipment
- May be required to travel between school sites as needed for service delivery
- Support professional development for educational staff regarding speech and language strategies
